Michener, Dawe rec facilities to undergo maintenance

The Michener Aquatic Centre will close for annual maintenance Sunday, August 22 to Monday, September 6, 2021.

The maintenance shutdown allows staff an opportunity to conduct a thorough inspection and maintenance on all equipment and technical systems in the facility.

Scheduled and drop-in activities will resume Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

In addition, the G.H. Dawe Community Centre will remain closed until Tuesday September 7, 2021. While the facility was originally scheduled to open September 1, an additional week is needed to complete demolition work and other internal construction as part of the G.H. Dawe Community Centre Project.

The facility is expected to open on September 8, with all amenities available, with the exception of playing surfaces in the arena. These areas will not be available until construction is complete, which is expected to be early 2023.
