Alberta adds just 90 COVID-19 cases, 0 deaths over three days

Red Deer now has 17 active cases of COVID-19, down two from last Friday’s reported total.

Recoveries are listed at 5,721 as Red Deer added just one new COVID case over the last three days for a total of 5,781.

Red Deer’s death toll stemming from COVID-19 remains 43, with the last one reported July 6.

The entire Central Zone has 59 active cases as of Monday, down 20 from Friday. There are six hospitalizations, down seven, and one person is receiving intensive care at Red Deer Regional Hospital, the same as Friday. The zone has had 170 deaths linked to the virus, with none reported today.

PROVINCIAL NUMBERS

Over the past three days, AHS confirmed a combined 90 cases with 31 on Friday, 29 on Saturday, and 30 on Sunday. There are 624 active cases, down 51 from Friday’s total of 675.

An average of 5,292 tests were conducted each day over the past three days. The seven-day positivity rate is currently 0.75 per cent.

Since Friday’s update, there have been zero news deaths added to the provincial COVID-19 death toll, which remains at 2,307.

Provincially, 112 patients are currently hospitalized, down 14, including 34 who have been admitted to intensive care, down one.

4,868,593 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta as of the end of July 11. 74.1 per cent of the 12+ population has received at least one dose (63.1% total population), while 55.3 per cent of the 12+ population is now fully vaccinated (47.0% total population).

In Red Deer, 59,859 (65.3% eligible/56.3% total) people have received at least one dose, up 225 over the last three days. Meanwhile, 46,513 residents (50.7%/43.7%) are fully vaccinated, up 1,266.
