Over 40 per cent of Red Deerians have received a COVID vaccine

Newly released data shows more than 40 per cent of Red Deerians have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the new map from Alberta Health showing regional vaccination stats, 44,806 city residents have received at least one shot as of Monday. That works out to 42.1 per cent of the Red Deer’s population (listed by the province as 106,395).

The same map also shows 7,625 residents have received two doses and are fully vaccinated (7.2 per cent).

The map shows data for three regions in the city: Red Deer – North, Red Deer – East and Red Deer – Southwest (SW). The majority of residents that have received at least one dose so far are in the east (25,188).

About a third of Red Deer County residents (10,097, 33.1 per cent) have received at least one dose while about five per cent (1,509 people) are fully immunized.

Across the province, 42.2 per cent of Albertans have received their first dose of the vaccine (1,887,833 people) and 7.4 per cent are fully immunized (329,613).
