Mounties investigate shooting at Ermineskin Cree Nation

Maskwacis RCMP are investigating after a man was dropped off at an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound early Thursday morning.

Mounties say it was at approximately 5:00 a.m. when the man was then transported via STARS Air Ambulance to an Edmonton area hospital, where he remains in stable but critical condition.

Maskwacis General Investigative Section (GIS), along with members from the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Wetaskiwin RCMP GIS began conducting an investigation which led police to a rural area of the Ermineskin Cree Nation.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance to come forward with any information they may know about the shooting that could assist investigators.
