Red Deer RCMP have an active investigation underway in the Glendale neighbourhood.

An RCMP spokesperson says the Emergency Response Team (ERT) has been called in to search a residence for a suspect.

A heavy police presence has been on scene on Gilbert Crescent with traffic along nearby 77 Street being diverted at Northey Ave while the ERT is temporarily set up at Glendale Sciences and Technology School.

Mounties respectfully request members of the public to stay clear of the area and not post photos of the ERT on social media.
