Recreation & Culture Grant programs approved for funding in Lacombe
The City of Lacombe is pleased to announce initiatives approved to receive funding from the 2021 Recreation and Culture Grant Program.
City officials say this grant supports new local programs and services that enhance the quality of life of residents through recreation and/or culture. It is the eighth year of the grant program.
“The City is excited to collaborate with community organizations to give residents opportunities to enjoy recreation and culture experiences in supportive physical and social environments,” said Recreation and Culture Manager Sandi Stewart, in a press release. “The approved projects will benefit many in our community through promoting free recreation opportunities, encouraging teen girls to stay in sports, providing the opportunity to try snowshoeing, and improving sport accessibility.”
According to officials, the City of Lacombe provided $15,000 to facilitate the 2021 Recreation and Culture Grant Program. Grant submissions totaling $50,820 were said to be received for consideration, with the Lacombe and District Recreation Parks and Culture Board approving the allocation of the funds at their Apr. 14 meeting.
