Mounties, SCAN tackle nuisance property in Normandeau

Red Deer RCMP are once again tackling nuisance properties in Red Deer through a collaborative approach between the RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit of the Alberta Sheriffs.

On Friday, Mar. 25, CRT executed a search warrant at a Normandeau residence after receiving numerous complaints from the public about suspicious criminal activity occurring.

As a result, Jonathan Stalwick, 34, of Red Deer faces four criminal charges:

• Possession for the purposes of trafficking

• Possession of Identify documents (x2)

• Breach of release conditions.

Stalwick was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Apr. 1.

“The Red Deer RCMP thanks the neighbourhood residents for their patience during this enforcement action, as well as for their steadfast reporting to the RCMP and SCAN on the activities taking place at the property,” Mounties say in a release.

“Red Deerians are encouraged to always report suspicious behaviour to Red Deer RCMP by calling 403-343-5575 or reporting online at www.reddeer.ca/RCMP.”

Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) is a unit of the Alberta Sheriffs that makes communities safer by using civil legislation to target residential and commercial problem property where illegal activity is occurring regularly. To report a problem property to SCAN, call 1-866-960-SCAN (7226).
