Rocky RCMP Report March 12-15 and upcoming check stop warning

To all motorists travelling in and around Rocky Mountain House over the next couple weeks, make sure to take extra precaution while driving and check that all of their driving documentation is up to date.

The Rocky RCMP and assisting organizations will be conducting check stops over the next number of weeks in town, and the surrounding area.

They’re asking that drivers have their drivers licence, registration and insurance documents availabel when stopped.

The following is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of March 12-15

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

March 12

7:03 A.M. – Complaint of an assault which occurred in Clearwater County. Police arrested an adult male. Charges pending.

7:38 A.M. – Report of a B&E to a compound belonging to an oilfield related company, off of Hwy #11A, west of RMH. Multiple vehicles and sea cans broken into. Thousands of dollars’ worth of tools stolen. Under investigation.

12:55 P.M. – Tires, winch, and an air compressor reported stolen from a Clearwater County rural property on Range Road 7-5 & Twp Rd 36-2.

1:32 P.M. – An assault was reported on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Under investigation.

3:59 P.M. – Shoplifter reported at a local RMH department store. Police attended and arrested the individual for outstanding arrest warrants.

5:50 P.M. – Complaint of an assault at a residence in Clearwater County. Bear spray and a tazer were used in the assault. Police located and arrested the suspects at a residence in Caroline. An adult male and female have both been charged with “Assault with a Weapon” and “Break & Enter.” Following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, the adult male was “remanded” in custody until the following week while the female was released and is due in court in April.

March 13

6:57 A.M. – Break & Enter reported to a garage in the Horburg area of Clearwater County. A Chevrolet Silverado was stolen along with 2 Stihl chainsaws, a table saw, and 2 cases of beer. The pickup truck was located on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve with the assistance of ON-STAR. Under investigation.

7:30 A.M. – 2002 silver DODGE RAM pickup truck stolen overnight from a residence in RMH.

3:50 P.M. – A compliant was received of a FORD F350 parked in someone else’s spot at a condo complex in RMH. Police attended the location and discovered that the truck had been stolen from a FORD dealership in Saskatchewan.

March 15

2:16 A.M. – B&E reported to a RMH business in the industrial area. Under investigation.

8:09 A.M. – Call received of an intoxicated male threatening to jump over the 2nd storey railing at a RMH motel. Police attended and arrested the individual who was released from custody after sobering up.

7:08 P.M. – Older blue faded CCM, 2 seater, bicycle stolen from residence in RMH.
