Sylvan Lake gets provincial funding for two major projects
The Town of Sylvan Lake is receiving just over $1.76 million in provincial Municipal Stimulus Program funding towards two key community projects.
Town officials say the Pogadl Park, Phase 2 project will create local jobs for Alberta-based contractors, attract tourism to the Sylvan Lake area, improve the quality of life for residents with better access to recreational amenities, and attract future business investment.
The second project is lounge upgrades at the NexSource Recreation Centre, which town officials say will “create and sustain local jobs and provide a more inviting, inclusive, and accessible space for residents and visitors.”
“Sylvan Lake is one of the most beautiful places in Alberta, attracting thousands of tourists every year. This $1.7 million investment from the Municipal Sustainability Project will help Sylvan Lake grow and create jobs for Albertans at a time when they need it most,” says Innisfail-Sylvan Lake MLA and Articulture and Forestry Minister Devin Dreeshen.
