Drayton Valley RCMP Report: December 10 – December 17

December 10

8:56 am – Drayton Valley – Complaint of possible online fraud, suspicious transactions on complainant’s credit card.

9:29 am – Drayton Valley – Cheque Fraud – Complainant advised that someone has deposited a cheque from his account. Under investigation.

9:53 am – Drayton Valley – False Alarm at Mr. Mikes Restaurant.

11:16 am – Drayton Valley – Complaint of two subjects trespassing at the Carlton East apartment building. Members attended, one subject arrested on outstanding warrants.

7:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Complaint of a fraudulent transaction. Complainant agreed to purchase an item from Facebook Marketplace. Once the E-Transfer took place the seller advised that the item was already sold and then stopped communication. Under investigation.

10:03 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of a person passed out under the mailboxes. Members attended location and located female.

10:33 PM – Brazeau County – Complainant requesting assistance with returning belongings.

December 11

05:57 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Report of a traffic hazard. Tow Truck moving a cargo trailer and something is dragging causing sparks.

7:03 am – Brazeau County – Report of a stolen truck in the area. Sirius XM radio has pinged the location of the truck. Members patrolled the area but vehicle was not located.

10:02 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 624 – Complainant reporting they were driving a school bus and was stopped fully lit with Stop sign out. A female in a dark-coloured SUV passed them while unloading passengers. Matter is still under investigation.

1:34 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant wanted information regarding a parenting order. Complainant wished members to be in attendance during exchange. Members advised to call if any issues.

5:08 pm – Drayton Valley – Uttering Threats – Landlord-Tenant Act – Dispute over the damage deposit being returned. No actual threats uttered.

5:29 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of an unwanted male sleeping outside the Dollar Tree. Members attended location and asked the male to move on.

10:16 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of an unwanted male living in the complainant’s shed. Members attended location. Male arrested on outstanding warrants and breach of conditions.

December 12

6:18 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd. – Female was bear sprayed and taken to hospital by ambulance. Female suffered minor injuries. All parties are known to police. This occurrence is an active investigation. Charges pending.

10:46 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for driving while distracted.

11:43 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 624 – Complainant reporting a black Jeep with no licence plate is speeding excessively.

11:56 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued violation tickets for no insurance or registration and failing to stop at Stop sign.

12:34 pm – Drayton Valley – Ambulance attended for a report of a drug overdose at a trailer park in town. Police assistance was requested. Members attended and the subject had already received first aid. Subject was checked by paramedics. No further police involvement.

1:10 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Trailer Court – Complainant reporting squatters in one of the trailers.

1:32 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant calling to report the fuel panel of their vehicle had been opened at some point during the evening. No damage to vehicle.

11:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unwanted male at the MAT program. Known male is refusing to leave and has their belongings strewn around. Member attended, MAT program advised male was banned until Monday night. Member provided a courtesy ride.

December 13

1:53 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting excessive noise in basement. Renter has been playing loud music for several hours and won’t answer the door. Member attended, music could be heard outside. Member knocked on the door and asked them to turn down the music. Renter slammed the door in members face, however did turn down the music.

11:16 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Stolen travel trailer overnight. A 25 ft trailer in the alleyway behind his home. The trailer is described as a grey Forest River Greywolf. Licence plate 5EG525. If located contact police.

11:36 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting they believe someone poured alcohol on the outside of their vehicle.

12:08 pm – Drayton Valley – Aspen Motor Inn – Complainant reporting a break and enter to a room. Someone kicked in the door on a suite. Male and female. Members attended and located male who was arrested and charged. Female still outstanding.

4:19 pm – Drayton Valley – Ramp and Roll – Complainant reporting a suspicious white truck which has been parked on the road all day. Vehicle not stolen.

4:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting known male is breaching COVID quarantine rules. Member advised complainant that male was removed from isolation on the 6 of December. Not breaching any rules.

9:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Trailer court – Member attended residence and arrested known male for outstanding warrants.

10:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant reporting an unwanted male is being aggressive. Male is in the bathroom and banging on the door and walls. Members attended and located known male who was in the bathroom trying to stay warm. Male provided courtesy ride to MAT program.

11:03 pm – Brazeau County – Birchwood – Complainant reporting a loud argument which turned physical. Member attended and spoke with female victim. Male had left prior to arrival. Matter is still under investigation.

December 14

12:12 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting female is extremely intoxicated and threw their dog. Female had left the residence. Member attended, female located and arrested, held until sober.

8:07 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they were at the gas station and paid $20 for gas, then the person behind them put the fuel in their vehicle instead. Vehicle is a white truck with a toolbox in the back.

11:38 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Complainant advised they found a meth pipe in the residence. Member attended and seized the pipe.

1:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Complainant is reporting someone who is not following the COVID rules. Member called the complainant who advised that their neighbour has been taking their kids to visit their friend whenever they want. Member searched the rules and was able to determine that the individual is allowed under the restrictions. Complainant advised.

1:52 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reporting a stolen vehicle from Barrhead was recently registered to someone in Drayton Valley. Vehicle is a red 2002 Chevrolet truck. Member attended and spoke with the owner who advised they bought it off Facebook Marketplace and had no idea it was stolen. Truck towed.

4:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a vehicles stop. Licence plate did not match the vehicle. Driver arrested for breaching court document.

6:52 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant advised of an intoxicated female wearing a black puffy jacket. Member attended location and located known female matching the description. Female arrested on outstanding warrants and breaching release order.

8:14 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting they were in a collision with a deer. Member attended and moved deer off the road.

8:37 pm – Brazeau County – Several 911 calls received, no information provided. Members attended, grandson admitted to calling. No emergency.

8:31 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver at Boston Pizza. White lifted pickup truck is swerving all over the road. Member attended, vehicle was gone upon arrival. Patrols made and were negative.

11:11 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Complainant reporting they were assaulted by a family member. All have been drinking. Member attended.

December 15

1:49 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious person checking vehicles. Member attended and located person who was looking for something in their truck. Valid.

10:45 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting harassment by ex. Ex is following them and calling on employer. Matter is under investigation.

4:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a COVID positive person is not isolating as required. Member is aware of individual who has been issued a violation ticket. Person is no longer required to quarantine.

4:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting one of their tenants is having some issues. Members are well aware of the individual and have dealt with them several times in the past. Member attended and spoke with the individual who was fine.

5:32 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant called 911 to report RCMP member stole their phone. Complainant had given phone to member to return to another individual. Other individual advised the phone wasn’t theirs. Member contacted complainant again to make arrangements to return the phone.

5:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting ex assaulted them. Related to previous complaint of harassment, however this time it is the ex who is the complainant.

9:55 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant advised a suspicious person is looking in the vehicles parked in the hotel parking lot. Member attended and patrolled the area. No one located.

11:36 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant called to report male is digging through the garbage can. Member attended. Male looking for bottles.

11:41 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Complainant reporting their 2019 burgundy Dodge Ram stolen. Matter is still under investigation.

December 16

10:31 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting a fraud. They attempted to buy a cell phone for a hundred dollars when the seller advised it was blacklisted, meaning it was stolen or lost. Matter is under investigation.

10:35 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant advising that someone cut access to a fence and stole an unsecured battery box from a communication tower.

11:14 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting 3 males in a pickup truck entered an abandoned well site, drove around, and then left. Vehicle described as a late 2000’s brown truck.

2:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant concerned with a sandwich they purchased as it had been put out on a tray prior to their arrival. Complainant requested they make another sandwich as that one was probably covered in COVID. They refused and would not return their money either. Members attended and kept the peace as they made the complainant a new sandwich.

7:03 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for distracted driving, as they were talking on their cell phone.

7:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on a family member whom they hadn’t heard from in a while. Members were able to locate the individual who was fine.

December 17

7:29 am – Drayton Valley – Mackenzie Avenue – Complainant reporting a manhole cover is open in the Southbound on 50 Street. Member attended and called Public Works.
