Announcement of new COVID-19 restrictions for Alberta expected this afternoon

Senior government and health officials are expected to announce additional restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Alberta at a new conference Tuesday afternoon.

It is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. You’ll be able to watch it here once it begins.

Premier Jason Kenney will be joined at the news conference by Health Minister Tyler Shandro, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, and Dr. Verna Yiu, president and chief executive officer of Alberta Health Services.

Hinshaw met with government officials Monday afternoon to share recommendations for additional restrictions for the province.
