Drayton Valley RCMP report: June 4 – June 11

June 4

8:46 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a missing female. Member attended and located female who just wished complainant to leave them alone.

9:46 am – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview Trailer Court – Complainant advised their ex stole money from them and today has been harassing them. Member attended residence, complainant not home. Member spoke with both parties. Theft is unfounded as it’s a joint bank account. No harassment as both parties continue to contact each other for parenting and financial responsibilities.

3:13 pm – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. Member attended and located a 2001 Dodge Ram which had been stolen out of the Breton area.

3:19 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting ex stole from them within the last 3 hours. Complainant left their residence and did not lock it. Ex returned to residence and stole their TV that the ex had bought. Complainant does not want ex in their residence. Complainant advised to lock the residence.

4:04 pm – Brazeau County – Request to conduct a wellbeing check on friend who was sick yesterday.

5:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Vehicle previously towed had small amount of crystal meth and unknown pills. Member seized items and destroyed.

7:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unwanted male in front of their truck. Members attended, male had left prior to arrival.

8:31 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Request to assist Sherriff with dispute. Sherriff observed a female walking along the ditch. Female appeared to be upset and crying. Male pulled up in a Dodge Ram and was trying to get the female into the truck. Members attended.

11:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting an assault. Complainant was sucker-punched in the face when they were trying to kick them. Members attended, both intoxicated, one male arrested and held until sober.

11:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 39 Street – Complainant reporting assault in Aspenview. Female reported an unknown female hit her in the face, unknown who the female is. Both parties were at a party, unknown address. Complainant fearful. Members searched the area, complainant could not be located. Complainant later located and advised they had had an argument with their friend.

June 5

12:42 am – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reporting excessive noise. Suspects are in the backyard having a fire and being loud. They have been drinking and approximately 5 vehicles are parked in front. Member attended and spoke with the homeowner who turned down the music and noise when asked to.

3:31 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reporting an attempted break and enter to their vehicle. Complainant could hear their alarm going off.

6:51 am – Drayton Valley – 56A Street – Complainant reporting their black 2000 Dodge Durango work truck was stolen. A 1999 Dodge Ram pickup was also broken into and rummaged through. Ignition had been smashed.

7:24 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complainant reporting 4 vehicles were broken into overnight while parked in the Ford parking lot. Tonneau cover on one vehicle was cut.

8:17 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Police called to a family disturbance at a residence. The conflict had calmed down prior to police arrival.

8:20 am – Drayton Valley – Hwy 620 – Report of a stolen truck/trailer overnight. The complainant had a flat tire and left their vehicle on the side of the highway. When they returned in the morning their vehicle was gone. The truck is a green 2012 Dodge Ram, Alberta license plate CFN-0778 with an enclosed black trailer with Alberta license plate 5WJ748.

9:57 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Break-in to a garage overnight and 4 vehicles damaged/rummaged through. Video surveillance was not working properly.

11:47 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant realized that the plate on their vehicle had been replaced with a different plate. Plate on the vehicle determined to be stolen from a different part of town. Unknown exactly when the plate switch happened.

1:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Battery boxes on a semi-truck were broken open and 3 car batteries were stolen.

6:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – 911 call from a cell phone, female spoken to, no signs of distress. Police attended, confirmed it was a child playing with the phone and there was no emergency.

10:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Report of a suspicious vehicle stopped near the school and can hear an alarm going off inside. Police attended and checked the school and spoke with the driver of the vehicle. The school was secure and the driver of the vehicle pulled over to use their cell phone.

10:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report that a neighbour is screaming and smashing things outside. Police attended, no signs of a disturbance. Police spoke with the complainant who confirmed the noise had stopped.

June 6

12:47 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a possible break-in to the landfill. Police attended and confirmed there was forced entry onto the property, nobody located inside. Police later located a possible suspect nearby and are waiting for video surveillance to confirm if the suspect was on the property.

1:10 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – A male wanted out of Lacombe Police Service for an unpaid no insurance fine was arrested and transported to Edmonton Remand Centre to serve time for the outstanding balance.

5:41 am – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Suspicious vehicle on the side of the road, members attended, nobody present. The vehicle was confirmed to not be stolen and was not blocking traffic.

7:27 am – Drayton Valley – Request received from Clearwater RCMP to assist with an identity theft investigation.

2:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – 911 hang-up from a residence. Police attended, confirmed there was no emergency and it was children playing with the phone.

3:06 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – RCMP members, along with Drayton Valley Fire and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to an ATV collision. The lone 42-year-old male rider appeared to be driving down the range road, went off the roadway and was thrown from the quad, sustaining serious, life-threatening injuries. The male was transported to Drayton Valley Hospital by EMS and then airlifted by STARS to Edmonton.

4:06 pm – Brazeau County – RR 83 – RCMP members, along with Drayton Valley Fire and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to a different ATV collision. The lone 30-year-old male rider was on the quad trails alone, lost control and was thrown from the quad, sustaining serious injuries. The male was found by some friends who were able to extract him from the wooded area and call for help. The male was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Edmonton.

6:00 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Report of a wallet being stolen near the Brazeau Dam. As members were attending the complainant called back advising they found the wallet.

7:00 pm – Parkland County – Tomahawk – Shoplifting of liquor. Members attended, the suspect vehicle was not located. Video surveillance was provided.

7:08 pm – Yellowhead County – Suspicious quad on a lease site with nobody around. Police were able to reach the owner who confirmed the quad was not stolen, they were hunting in the area and had left the quad there.

June 7

2:42 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Police attended with Fire and EMS to a report of a single-vehicle rollover. The 28-year-old male driver stated that he lost control and entered the ditch causing him to roll. No signs of impairment. The male was transported by ambulance to Drayton Valley Hospital.

3:15 am – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Court – Report of possible attempted theft of truck. The owner woke up to his truck alarm going off and noticed damage to the driver’s door handle and called police. Complainant did not witness the suspect and no entry was gained to the vehicle. Members attended and made patrols, no suspects were located. No video surveillance was available.

6:22 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Theft of a 2019 black Toyota Tundra, Alberta license CDF-9354, stolen from Scotty’s Esso. The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside as the owner went inside to pay, a male approached, got in, and drove away in the vehicle and was last seen Eastbound on Hwy 22.

7:28 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Break-in to a locked compound at a business sometime overnight. An older model Ford F-450 had the ignition damaged in an attempt to steal it, but the suspect(s) were unsuccessful in getting it started and stole tools from the truck. No surveillance on site.

11:27 am – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Court – Theft from vehicle overnight. A hole was punched in the door and the fuse box was tampered with. Wallet was stolen and recovered a short time later. Investigation is still on-going.

2:10 pm – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Court – Found bikes. 2 bicycles were left overnight on a property. One bike was silver and the other was gold. When police did checks on the bikes they did not come back as stolen. If anyone is missing a bike please contact the RCMP.

6:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Ave – Noise complaint leads to drug seizure. Two heavily intoxicated individuals were in an argument when police arrived. The more aggressive person was arrested, and after a search, a small amount of meth was found on the person.

June 8

8:16 am – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Court – Theft from motor vehicle overnight. Miscellaneous tools stolen along with nitrogen tanks. There are no suspects at this time however the investigation is still on-going.

1:35 pm – Brazeau County – Theft of copper wire from a lease site. There was $150 worth of copper wire stolen from a lease site west of Drayton Valley. It may have occurred overnight. There are no witnesses or video surveillance. Police are concerned as copper wire theft had dropped significantly over the last 5 months.

2:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Recovered stolen vehicle. The owner of a stolen vehicle had found his vehicle near Scotty’s Esso. It is believed the vehicle was dumped after a silver Toyota was stolen at the gas pumps. Recovered in the stolen vehicle was a slip tank. If anyone is missing a slip tank and can correctly identify the tank please call the RCMP.

2:29 pm – Brazeau County – Drayton Valley RCMP responded to a dropped 911 call from a home northwest of Drayton Valley. Police learned that a small child had called 911 by accident. Police encourage parents to teach children to call 911 however, please teach them the importance of only calling in an emergency.

3:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting neighbours are running an air compressor and air tools with the garage door open. Member spoke with the complainant and advised that the noise is not excessive and within the hours for the noise bylaw.

5:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting their ex is breaching conditions.

8:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 64 Street – Complainant reporting ex is being chased by a male in a Ford Ranger. Member was able to locate people involved. No issues.

8:21 pm – Parkland County – 911 open line, members investigated and located a single-vehicle rollover with minor injuries. Member attended along with EMS. Driver transported to hospital.

June 9

1200 am – Drayton Valley – 40 Street – Complainant reporting garage open at residence. Vehicles are inside. Member attended and spoke with the owner of the residence. Door had been left open by accident.

1:25 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting a vehicle had fled McDonalds after smashing a window in the drive-thru. Member located vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. Vehicle fled to a residence and the driver ran inside and would not come out. Vehicle towed.

4:18 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting 4 – 6 people are putting wood in a gas BBQ and starting a fire. Members attended, individuals not there and there is no fire.

11:32 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a known female picked the lock into the yard at the Thrift Shop. Member attended and located a male who worked at the business and advised they were doing work in the building.

12:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue –Alarm company reporting a residential panic alarm. Member attended, occupant advised they forgot the alarm was armed and opened the garage. False Alarm.

1:18 pm – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reporting female in front of the store using drugs in a vehicle. Members attended and located female who was not doing drugs.

1:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting 2 females are arguing in the alley. Members attended and located known females who stated they were talking about money the one owed the other. One female was talking very loudly.

2:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they were driving on 50 Street when a deer ran out of the bush and collided with the front left quarter panel, bumper, and hood.

2:44 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reporting ex will not allow them to see child. Ongoing Custody issue.

2:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting their licence plate was stolen off their 2014 blue Toyota Tacoma.

8:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting known male had been breaking into one of the units at the hotel. Member attended.

9:12 pm – Violet Grove – Complainant reporting suspicious activity at one of the residences.

10:00 pm – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Report of a large party with underage persons drinking. Members patrolled area, no party found.

10:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – 911 hangup. Asked for police prior to hanging up. Members attended a residence as they had been receiving several calls from that residence. Ongoing issues related to drug abuse.

June 10

2:27 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting a female yelling in the alley. Members attended location and made patrols in the area, nobody located. No further information provided.

2:55 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued ticket for fail to signal, warning given for failure to provide operator’s licence.

8:59 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant calling to report an abandoned white 2003 Buick behind their shop. Members attended, called the Registered Owner who advised they had sold the vehicle.

9:40 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant calling to request a wellbeing check on family member who hadn’t been heard from in a while. Members attended and spoke with family member who advised all fine.

9:58 am – Drayton Valley – 40 Street – Complainant reporting a hit and run sometime last week. Damage to their black 2011 Toyota Tundra. Rear passenger side bumper damaged.

10:42 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a warning for not wearing their seat belt and for non-compliance window tint.

10:45 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting girlfriend missing for the past 30 minutes. Members located girlfriend who requested to go to the hospital.

12:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a warning for non- compliant window tint and issued a ticket for no mudguard.

2:30 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting theft of a solar panel and old batteries from lease site.

2:45 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they were travelling south on Hwy 620 when 3 deer ran across the road, one of them collided with their vehicle.

3:05 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report 2 individuals came to their residence last night and stashed an air compressor in the bush. Member attended the residence and seized a Blue Mastercraft compressor. Owner located and compressor returned.

3:24 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued ticket for no insurance and vehicle towed. Driver provided with a courtesy ride home.

4:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Third party complaint of uttering threats from a previous incident. Did not wish to provide statement.

4:47 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver charged with driving an uninsured vehicle.

5:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Complainant reporting unsupervised children playing on the street. Ongoing issue.

6:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a suspect vehicle that had caused damage to the drive-thru window at McDonalds. Vehicle fled on police and followed to a residence where the driver exited the vehicle and ran into a residence. Driver issued with several tickets, including fail to stop for police, transporting open liquor, and stunting.

7:10 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 514 – Complainant reporting a break and enter into residence. Member attended, owners away. Member attended, residence secured.

7:34 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting a dirtbike with no plate illegally passed them and sprayed rocks at their vehicle. Driver confronted to which they responded with spraying more rocks. Member patrolled area, dirtbike and driver not located.

8:25 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver in a purple Dodge car. Member patrolled area, vehicle not located.

10:50 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting female is walking toward town. Members located female.

10:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious male holding a stick. Member attended, suspect had left prior to arrival. Patrols made and suspect not located.

11:00 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Members on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a male on a yellow dirt bike. Known male who is prohibited from driving was arrested. Dirt bike had been previously reported stolen.

11:24 pm – Drayton –Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter in progress. 2 males, one with bolt cutters, appear to be breaking into a storage unit. Members attended, 2 males and 1 female were accessing their rented unit. No signs of force.

11:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting excessive noise in the parking lot. Members attended, no one located in parking lot.

11:34 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reporting a dead deer on the Highway. Member attended, deer had been moved off the highway.

June 11

12:46 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting several items stolen from their garage. Member attended, no sign of forced entry. Still under investigation.

2:32 am – Brazeau County – RR 65 – Members attended scene of a single-vehicle rollover. Driver had been taken to hospital by person who had called tow truck. Queries of the plate on the vehicle did not match the vehicle. Still under investigation.

2:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious males walking up and down the alley when their truck alarm went off. Members attended area and made patrols, no sign of attempted theft on any vehicles.

3:59 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male walked in and stole a 1-litre chocolate milk and 2 bags of chips. Male wearing a blue hoodie with the hood up and beige pants.

7:31 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a warning for failing to stop.
