Early Bird winner announced, ticket deadline approaching for Red Deer Hospital Lottery

A gentleman from Olds has been announced as the Early Bird winner of this year’s Red Deer Hospital Lottery.

Kelly McLellan is now $25,000 richer thanks to his support of this year’s lottery.

Other Early Bird prize winners of $1,000 each include Joan Henfrey, Lawrence Farries, Lynda Houseman and Wayne Windross, Michelle Murray, and Reg Psiurski, all of Red Deer.

Travis Kuschminder, Marketing and Communications Manager with Red Deer Regional Health Foundation (RDRHF) notes it’s not too late to purchase a ticket if you haven’t already done so.

“We’re just over 85 per cent sold, and believe it or not, there are still single tickets available at $25 each,” says Kuschminder. “We also have a few packages available still for the main lottery of course and those tickets get you into that grand prize show home built by Sorento Custom Homes located at 121 Larratt Close in Red Deer.”

The $840,000 bungalow features 2,927 sq ft of developed living space, described as a perfect family home with four bedrooms, three full baths, and a spacious theatre room on the lower level.

The show home boats high vaulted ceilings in the main living space, a screened deck off the dining room, and a double-sided fireplace accessible from the living room or deck. In addition, the home’s future owners can expect to enjoy the 5-piece ensuite connecting to a large walk-in closet and adjoining laundry room.

With the ticket sales deadline approaching on June 22, Kuschminder says they will open the home for a final time on June 19, 20, and 21 from 1:00-5:00 p.m.

“Of course we also have 102 other great prizes valued at over $1 million,” says Kuschminder. “We’ve got a couple of new vehicles like a Jeep Cherokee and a Ford Escape. You name it, we’ve got it. It’s a great prize lineup!”

The Lottery’s Mega Bucks 50 has also been a hit with ticket buyers according to Kuschminder. The jackpot currently sits at nearly $649,000 and counting.

“Someone is going to win half of that,” says Kuschminder. “It grows every day and tickets are still available for that as well. It’s best to see your ticket options and buy them online at reddeerhospitallottery.ca.”

Kuschminder reminds you that all proceeds raised go to the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.

“We are just so pleased with how the lottery has been doing so far as we approach the final days,” he exclaims. “We are really fortunate to have the continued support of not only central Alberta, but right across the province. We certainly saw a number of challenges when COVID took over our everyday lives and we couldn’t have the dream home open on a regular basis and we weren’t sure people would have the disposable income to buy a lottery ticket.”

Final draws for this year’s Red Deer Hospital Lottery take place July 10.
