COVID-19 recoveries in Alberta surpass 6,000

More than 6,000 Albertans have recovered from COVID-19, according to the latest numbers released Tuesday afternoon on the Alberta Health website.

Alberta has now reported a total of 6,901 cases of the novel coronavirus, an increase of 22 from Monday, with 6,048 recoveries and 714 cases still active.

A total of 221,173 Albertans have now been tested.

There are 45 Albertans currently in hospital because of COVID-19, including five in intensive care.

Another person has died from the virus to bring the province’s death toll from COVID-19 to 139.

Out of 17,823 people tested in the Central zone, the number of reported COVID-19 cases remains 99 (three active and 95 recovered).
