A Drayton Valley woman is one of four people facing charges after a traffic stop in Slave Lake lead to a seizure of drugs and Canadian currency.

On the night of January 28, Slave Lake RCMP were conducting targeted patrols in areas of Slave Lake known to have increased instances of crime and victimization when a suspicious vehicle was observed driving around.

Officers determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Drayton Valley earlier in the day. Officers conducted a traffic stop and the four occupants were arrested for possession of the stolen property. Inside the vehicle officers located Canadian currency, methamphetamine, cocaine, and oxycontin.

Further investigation lead police to execute a search warrant at a residence in Slave Lake, where they seized additional illegal drugs on January 29. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is in excess of $80,000.
