Ponoka RCMP are laying charges against a third person believed connected to street-level drug activities which were investigated by police from October to December.

Jonathan Harry Bertram Higgs, 31, is facing two charges of trafficking cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The alleged offence dates are Oct. 9 and Oct. 29. Higgs had been the subject of an arrest warrant as of the morning of Dec. 30, but police later said he turned himself in to police that same day.

On Dec. 16, RCMP announced they had arrested and charged 50-year-old John James St. Jean with trafficking of methamphetamine, and 31-year-old Michelle Dawn Janzen for trafficking and possession-related offences. St. Jean and Janzen are scheduled to appear in a Ponoka courtroom on Jan. 10.
