Monday meeting to discuss future of Eldorado School

The Wild Rose School Division Board of Trustees is inviting area residents to a public meeting this Monday, November 4, to gather community feedback on the possible closure of Eldorado School for the 2020-21 school year.

District officials say the meeting will be held at the Eldorado Elementary School gymnasium at 7:00pm.

It’s anticipated the closure would coincide with the completed construction of the new elementary school being built to replace the old Evergreen Elementary School, scheduled to open in January of 2021.

Officials say the Board would be closing one school due to the opening of a new school, and making a decision regarding the closure of Eldorado School at their December 17 board meeting.

District officials add they will also be gathering public input on their future capital plan for all Drayton Valley Schools.
