Preparing for Winter

Ponoka fall clean up begins October 15

Oct 10, 2019 | 3:19 PM

The Town of Ponoka Fall Clean Up campaign begins Tuesday, October 15.

Town crews will be collecting compostable yard waste placed in all residential back alleys for pick up.

Ponoka residents are asked to place all materials for pick up in a pile at their back alley before October 15.

Please do not put materials in bags, as bagged materials will not be picked up.

Residents who don’t have a back alley can pile materials at the front of their property (but not on the road please) ensuring the materials are visible for pick up.

Materials that will be picked up are: compostable yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, weeds, bedding plants, etc.) and tree branches no longer than five feet that will not fit into residents’ Green Carts due to excess volume.

Materials that will not be picked up include: rocks, construction material, wood, household waste, plastic bags and pet excrement.
