Southern Alberta’s snowy weekend
Environment Canada has lifted all of its snowfall watches and warnings for Alberta after a weekend storm blanketed much of the province in the white stuff.
Meteorologist Kyle Fougere says a large chunk of the province got at least 25 to 40 centimetres, but the highest accumulations were in Waterton Lakes National Park, which got 95 centimetres of snow, while parts of Lethbridge got 50 to 60 centimetres.
Fougere says September snowfalls aren’t unusual in Alberta but warmer air and westerly winds are on the way.
The following is a summary of information received by
Environment Canada as of 1 p.m. September 30.
