Thunder lose one, win one in Bonnyville

The Drayton Valley Thunder earned their first win of the AJHL season over the weekend.

The Thunder travelled to Bonnyville where they split a pair of games versus the Pontiacs. Bonnyville won 7-2 on Friday while Drayton Valley won 2-1 on Saturday.

Kaydn Chabot and Jeremy Klessens scored for the Thunder on Friday, while Rory Dumelie took the loss in net.

In Saturday’s win, Chabot scored in the second period while Tanner Hopps scored the game winning goal in the third period. Shawn Wiranata earned the win in net.

The Thunder play at home this Friday, Sept. 27 versus the Canmore Eagles (7 p.m. at the Omniplex) before visiting the Olds Grizzlys on Saturday.
