Rebels drop second straight against Edmonton to start season
The Red Deer Rebels are off to an 0-2 start to the WHL regular season after losing the second half of a home and home set against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
In the capital Sunday afternoon, Red Deer fell behind and couldn’t catch up, ultimately losing 4-1 after a 4-2 loss at home to Edmonton on Saturday.
Riley Sawchuk (1st), and Jesse Seppala (1st) scored late in the first period and early in the second to put the home team up 2-0.
At 13:34 of the middle frame, Chris Douglas (1st) scored to cut the deficit to 2-1. Zak Smith and Arshdeep Bains got the helpers.
