Those involved in a motor vehicle collision southeast of Red Deer are lucky to be walking away from it.

Alberta RCMP confirm that the driver of a vehicle which t-boned a pickup truck on Friday is facing a $388 fine under the Traffic Safety Act.

The incident happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. near Range Road 241 and Township Road 314, which is around five kilometres southwest of Three Hills.

Cpl. Ronald Bumbry says a westbound car was travelling on 314 and failed to yield where the road meets 241. At that point, the car smashed into a southbound truck which was carrying a trailer.
