Missing 73-year-old found safe in muskeg area

Maskwacis RCMP say Harry Rowan, 73, has been located, and he was in good spirits when found.

Rowan was reported missing on Wednesday morning.

He was located by Maskwacis RCMP and Red Deer Search and Rescue late Wednesday afternoon in an area with very dense bush and muskeg, according to police. He had been unable to free himself from his surroundings.

“A huge thanks is due to the SAR team for their successful efforts” says Inspector James McLaren, the Detachment Commander of Maskwacis RCMP. “This positive outcome is a large reward for the team, the RCMP, the community and the family.”
