ALERT makes second major drug bust in a week in Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT- The ALERT unit has made another drug bust in Medicine Hat.

$42,000 in cash and drugs were seized including methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl.

Police are concerned with the 67 grams of fentanyl included in the bust, saying it’s one of the larger amounts seized in Medicine Hat.

Search warrants were executed on Monday on a residence and a vehicle in Medicine Hat, concluding a four month investigation.

Theresa Babitzke, 54, is facing seven charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and breach of recognizance.
