Natural gas blast rips apart Alberta workshop
DE WINTON, Alta. – A man is being treated for serious injuries after a natural gas explosion that tore apart a workshop on a rural property just south of Calgary.
Witnesses report seeing chunks of debris hurled several metres into the air when the blast happened just before 8;30 p.m. Monday, about three kilometres west of De Winton.
A large plume of smoke could be seen for several kilometres, but fire officials say there was no risk to the public.
