Hospital patients ditching gowns for quicker recovery
A pilot project at Red Deer Regional Hospital is helping patients speed up their own recovery.
The project called End PJ Paralysis was already being utilized in Calgary and Edmonton, and launched in two units of Red Deer’s hospital on Jan. 15.
‘PJ Paralysis’ is a phrase used to describe the negative physical and psychological effects experienced by patients who spend long periods of time inactive and in pyjamas while in hospital.
