Edmonton school shooting film about gay-straight alliances

EDMONTON – Students at an Edmonton high school are making a movie about gay-straight alliances.

“One Voice” is a musical being shot at Victoria School of the Arts, and it tells the story of a group of students pushing school administrators to allow them to form a gay-straight alliance.

Many Alberta students left their classes on Friday to protest expected changes to the province’s rules for gay-straight alliances, which are clubs meant to provide a safe space for LGBTQ students.
