Mounties arrest four in Wetaskiwin crime spree

At 4:47 a.m. police were dispatched to an alarm at Master Cell Tech.

The front door was broken but no entry to the business was made.

About ten minutes later there was a break and enter at home.

The occupants were bear sprayed and their vehicle was stolen.

At 10:26 in the evening police were called to the Wetaskiwin McDonalds.

A Peace Officer had been flagged down by a man who had been bear sprayed and had his cell phone stolen.

The suspects were driving the stolen vehicle from earlier in the day.

With the assistance of video surveillance four people were identified and arrested at a residence.

Donovan Lightning, 25, of Maskwacis faces charges including robbery, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Shalien Ward, 23, of Maskwacis has been charged with robbery and possession of property obtained by crime.

Two boys from Maskwacis, aged 16 and 14, are also facing charges that include assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon, robbery, and break and enter.

RCMP say all parties arrested are well known to them.
