Blackfalds man arrested following police chase in northern Alberta

A police pursuit on Highway 2 in northern Alberta has led to the arrest of a man from Blackfalds.
 
Spirit River RCMP say around 1:45 p.m. today, they got a call of an armed robbery at a gas station in Rycroft.

After leaving the gas station, the suspect then went to a home and stole a vehicle. Police tried to do a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle fled. Both vehicles were damaged during the attempted stop.

A chase ensued down Highway 2 that ended in the County of Grande Prairie.

Charges are pending against a 34-year-old man from Blackfalds.
