Anonymous phone threat leads to hold and secure at Pioneer Middle School

Officials say a ‘vague and anonymous’ phone threat led to a hold and secure at Pioneer Middle School Monday morning.

Wild Rose School Division says there was no immediate danger, however they still enacted ‘hold and secure’ protocol and contacted the RCMP.

Students remained indoors and classed continued as normal while the situation unfolded. All doors to the school were locked while RCMP searched the premises thoroughly.

At around noon it was concluded that there was no threat, and the school decided to lift the hold and secure at 3:30 p.m. allowing students to leave the grounds.
