City Mounties arrest suspect in stolen car

Charges are pending following an incident in north Red Deer Wednesday afternoon.

A spokesperson for Red Deer RCMP confirms that around 3:45 p.m., a number of plain-clothed officers observed a stolen vehicle at the Centex gas station located at Taylor Drive and Howarth Street.

In an attempt to flee, the suspect ran into an unmarked RCMP truck. The suspect then tried to flee on foot, but was arrested shortly thereafter.

No one was injured in the incident.
