Five people and two pets were inside the home at the time of the fire. The people are staying with neighbours, Pendergast says, while one of the cats remains missing.

“Although there was extensive flames coming from all sides of the house there was no damage to any other homes,” noted Pendergast, who adds that damage will be in excess of $300,000.

 The cause of the fire is being investigated.
