Commercial permits led the way to an increase in the value of building permits issued in the city of Red Deer last month.

City officials say notable permits issued in August included a $6.5 million permit for Woody’s RV World at 71 Burnt Park Drive and two permits valued at $4.7 million for new four-storey  apartment complexes at 50 Livingston Close.

Others included a $2 million permit for interior renovations and a new medical clinic at London Drugs and a permit valued at $1.1 million for a gas flaring facility at the Waste Management Facility.

Total building permit values for August checked-in at $25.5 million, up from $15.4 million in August of 2017.
