No one was injured following an apartment fire in Red Deer’s West Park neighbourhood that displaced one adult and two children on Friday.

Platoon Chief Gary Engebretson says crews were called to the six-plex on 57 Avenue at 4:45 p.m. and discovered smoke coming from both the front and back of the suite upon arrival.

He says three engines, the Bronto, a command vehicle, EMS unit and 15 firefighters attended and knocked the fire out quickly.

Engebretson says crews remained on scene until shortly after 6:00 p.m. but no word yet on a cause, adding the Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
