Local man arrested for High Prairie liquor store robbery
A Drayton Valley man has been arrested in relation to an armed robbery last month in High Prairie.
It was on August 22 at about 8 p.m. when a Mountie observed a male running from a liquor store in High Prairie carrying a bottle of liquor. The male fled in a white Jeep Cherokee.
The male suspect had entered the store, approached the till and produced a firearm. The suspect demanded cash and departed the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and bottles of liquor. The liquor store employee was not injured.
Dakota Frederick Ouellette, 23, has been arrested and charged with five counts including robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting arrest and carrying a concealed weapon.
