Bucs hosting Teddy Bear Toss vs. Lloydminster

Jun 15, 2018 | 10:21 AM

The Central Alberta Buccaneers are using their next home game to support a great local cause.

Ronald McDonald House Central Alberta recently shared that they are in need of teddy bears as they go through them rather quickly.

When the Bucs found out about this, they decided to hold their first ever Teddy Bear Toss at their game tomorrow night (Saturday) at 6 p.m. at Great Chief Park versus the Lloydminster Vandals.

After the Buccaneers score their first touchdown of the game, fans are asked to toss their bears onto the field and they’ll be rounded up and delivered to Ronald McDonald House.

If their last home game is any indication, Bucs fans may not have to wait long to do so. Tanner Olstad returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown in last weekend’s 48-7 win over Airdrie.

The Buccaneers are 1-1 to start the 2018 Alberta Football League season. The Vandals come into tomorrow’s game with a record of 1-1-1.
