Olds College to host national tech research workshop

Researchers and dignitaries from across Canada will gather at Olds College next week for a national research workshop aimed at the country’s Technology Access Centres (TAC’S).

TAC’s are described as specialized research and development centres that are affiliated with Canadian colleges and technical institutes with focus on providing specialized technology, equipment and expertise to small and medium-sized businesses.

According to college officials, the Tech-Access 101 Workshop marks the first time that representatives of all 30 TAC’s from across the country will meet in western Canada.

Officials add that every TAC has a defined area of innovation and expertise, with Olds College home to the TAC for livestock production.
