Chamber anticipates big economic impact from CFR 45

“When these negotiations first started, there was a lot of confidence in Red Deer,” says More. “We’ve proven ourselves in national and international events that we’ve done, so we are on the map as far as people looking, even facility-wise. That was one of the key components that CPRA wanted to come here was that the Westerner facility just lends itself for it.”

More points out that Red Deer, Westerner Park and all of central Alberta is a great place to host CFR 45, given its facilities, lodgings and geographic location.

“We pretty well had to do this organizational within 10 months which is pretty quick, especially for a first time show,” exclaims More. “Red Deer is really good about owning something and the pride they have, whether it be volunteering or facilities or things like that. It’s an amazing city that will be beaming, saying ‘This is ours!’.”

More feels those who miss out on CFR 45 are going to miss out on something big,

“It’s kind of like when something is a success, everyone wants to be part of it and they want to say they were there. I believe that’s what’s going to happen.”
