Servus Arena parking lot finished and ready to welcome hockey fans
The scene is set for Red Deerians to come watch some of the world’s best young hockey players at the new Servus Arena next month.
The City of Red Deer is putting the finishing touches on the arena’s new parking lot, work that was intended to be finished prior to the Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
“The parking lot is sort of the icing on the cake after the development of Servus Arena,” says Recreation Superintendent Barb McKee. “We’re really pleased to have finished the lot which has great draininge, really good fixtures, and the promenade makes it look fantastic. It’s really going to serve the community well at the new facility.”
Additionally, some grading and delineation work is being done on the gravel lot just north of the arena to maximize the parking available there.
The net gain in terms of parking spots is about 100, McKee says.
