Pro-immigration rally Saturday in Red Deer
A pro-immigration rally is planned for tomorrow in Red Deer.
The group Political SoapBox says on Facebook they are hosting the rally at Red Deer City Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are promoting a silent rally and encourage attendees to wear dark clothing to “stand out as separate from anti-immigration messages.”
The group posted a graphic from the federal government showing 75 per cent of Canada’s population growth comes from immigration. They also note how Canadian couples are having fewer children from four decades ago, creating a need for immigration to fuel Canada’s population growth.
“The yellow vests hold rallies misleading about intent, and Pro-Immigration signs are needed to counter the anti-immigration message they rant out of loudspeakers,” reads the Facebook post.
