Springbrook carjacking victim thankful it wasn’t worse
The victim of a car-jacking in Springbrook Tuesday morning is thankful the experience wasn’t worse than it was.
Jennifer from Springbrook says she was on her way to work when she came upon a crash scene involving what appeared to be a welding truck and school bus at the intersection of Airport Drive and Township Road 372 near the Red Deer Airport.
“I pulled over and stopped and saw activity in the school bus like kids and the bus driver, so I got out and yelled ‘Is there anything I can do?’” recalls Jennifer. “The driver of the truck that had hit the bus turned and it looked like he was holding his arm kind of funny but he didn’t reply. It looked like he was injured so I said ‘Sir, are you OK?’ and he just kind of groaned and that’s when I saw his face.”
Jennifer says the suspect had a bandana pulled up over his mouth and nose and then started walking towards her car, making her realize she was not in a good situation.
