Trial dates set for Delburne man charged in fatal collision
Trial will take place late next year for a Delburne man charged in a fatal collision that occurred after he gave chase to a man who stole a truck from his rural property.
Daniel Wayne Newsham, 46, is charged with manslaughter. He was ordered to stand trial following a preliminary hearing last month in Red Deer.
Three Hills RCMP were alerted at around 11:30 on the night of August 14, 2016 about a suspicious Dodge Dakota that drove onto a rural property near Delburne and got stuck. The driver then reportedly took a Ford F150 from the property before fleeing.
According to police, a man in a vehicle had been following the suspicious Dodge, and then continued following the stolen Ford before they eventually collided.
