RED DEER – RCMP arrested a number of people over the past week who were found to be breaching various court-imposed conditions or who had failed to appear in court on earlier charges.

Several people were arrested after public reports of suspicious men trying vehicle doors, and one man faces numerous charges after RCMP located him driving impaired with a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat.

On June 1, RCMP located and arrested Matthew Douglas Bauer, 31, who was wanted on warrants after failing to appear in court regarding an arrest in March on stolen vehicle charges.

Bauer faces charges of possession of stolen property and three counts of failing to comply with conditions. His next court appearance is on June 15.

At around 4 a.m. on June 2 RCMP responded to a report of a suspect trying vehicle doors in the Johnstone neighbourhood.

Police responded and located the suspect nearby, at which time they determined that he was in possession of items stolen from an area vehicle.

Jared Lee Douville, 26, faces theft and failing to comply with probation order charges and is in court on  June 19.

Shortly before 6 p.m. on June 2, RCMP responded to a report of a man walking through the Eastview neighbourhood swinging a machete.

Jessie Dodd, 31, was arrested without incident and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.

He is in court on June 20.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. on June 2, RCMP were called to a theft at a north end business.

A man fled before police arrived but Mounties arrested a woman.

Danielle Janet Ross, 36, faces charges including resisting arrest, theft and failing to comply with conditions.

She will appear in court on June 13.

Shortly before 2 a.m. on June 8, RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance in progress at a residence in Normandeau.

A man was reported to be ringing the doorbell of a home and and banging on the windows.

RCMP located the suspect car nearby in an alley and arrested the driver.

Inside the vehicle officers found a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat. Its serial number had been removed.

A 39-year-old man faces six firearms charges, impaired driving charges and a charge of mischief.

His name has not been released as those charges have not yet been sworn before the courts.
