Battlefield Bike Ride raises over $750,000 for Wounded Warriors
Seven days of cycling from Canterbury, England to the vimy Ridge memorial in France has raised over $750,000 for Wounded Warriors Canada.
Sharon Bath, a Red Deerian who took part in the event, said she personally raised over $4000 for the cause. She added that once riders reached their own personal minimum fundraising goal they moved on to help other riders reach their goals too.
“Our battlefield Bike Ride represents the single largest fundraiser for our organization each year. As the event continues to grow, it reinforces how much our country deeply appreciates the service and sacrifice of those who fought and died for the freedoms we enjoy today,” said Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada.
Funds raised will directly fund the organization’s national mental health programs benefitting ill and injured Veterans, First Responders and their families living with Operational Stress Injuries such as PTSD.
