Rebels sign goaltender Chase Nielson to WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement

The Red Deer Rebels have signed goaltender Chase Nielson to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

From Fort MacLeod, Alta., he just took part in his second training camp with the Rebels since he was selected by the team in round three, 56th overall at the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.

After he appeared in one preseason game, he was reassigned to SAHA U18 Prep (CSSHL) for the 2026-27 season.

“Chase had an excellent training camp with us. He continues to work incredibly hard and make great strides with his game,” said Ian Gordon, Rebels Director of Goaltending and goalie coach, in a media release. “We’re proud to have him sign with us and look forward to him being a key player going forward.”
