Ponoka seeking resident input on new rec and tourism strategy

Sep 2, 2026 | 10:43 AM

The Town of Ponoka wants to hear what citizens think would fit into its new recreation and tourism strategy.

“A new Recreation and Tourism Strategy will help the Town make evidence-based decisions about how changes to recreation and tourism can contribute to Ponoka’s well-being and economic development,” the municipality states in a release.

“The strategy will provide a roadmap for enhancing Ponoka’s role as a destination for visitors and residents focused on recreation and tourism attractions.”

How to Provide Your Input

Community members can learn more about the Recreation and Tourism Strategy and offer their input by completing a survey in one of two ways:

• Online at LetsTalkPonoka.ca; and

• Paper copies are available at the Ponoka Aquaplex (5315 46 Avenue), Ponoka Arena Complex (4410 54 Street) and the Town Office on the second floor of the Ponoka Civic Centre (#200 5604 50 Street).

The survey will remain open until Tuesday, Sept. 29 at midnight.

Once public engagement is completed, the Ponoka Recreation and Tourism Strategy will be drafted based on the input received from citizens and will be presented to Ponoka Town Council for review and consideration.
