Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens eager to start 2026-27 ACAC season
The Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Kings and Queens enter the 2026–27 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) season with a distinguished record of achievement and a steadfast commitment to excellence.
Building on a year in which 121 student-athletes earned Academic Excellence Awards (GPA of 3.0 or higher in Fall 2025 Term), RDP teams secured four Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) medals (two gold and two bronze) and 20 ACAC medals (seven gold, nine silver and four bronze) in 2025-26. The RDP Rodeo and Dance teams added several top-three finishes, including Kaybree Zunti’s recognition as the 2026 Canadian College Finals Rodeo High Point Cowgirl with 795 points.
“As the 2026-27 ACAC season quickly approaches, we are excited to continue RDP Athletics’ legacy of excellence in the classroom, during competition and as ambassadors in the community,” says Randy Stewart, Director of Athletics, Red Deer Polytechnic. “We look forward to our student-athletes, coaches and staff building on this tradition in the year ahead.”
The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens soccer teams will be the first to begin the new campaign, facing the SAIT Trojans in Calgary on August 29. Last season, the RDP Queens won both Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and ACAC bronze. The Kings will aim to return to playoff contention.
