Man sentenced in Red Deer stolen firearm and property investigation

One of two people charged in a Red Deer stolen firearm and property investigation has been sentenced to nearly two-and-a-half years in jail. 

Joshua Christopher Severin, 33, of Red Deer, was sentenced in Red Deer Court of Justice on July 21, 2026, after being convicted on one count each of possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, and possession of prohibited firearm contrary to order. 

Severin’s 910-day sentence, however, was reduced to 157 days after being given credit for 753 days in custody. He was also given a firearm prohibition. 

Severin’s co-accused, Shelby Meagan Krause, 34, also of Red Deer, had all six of her charges withdrawn.
