Summer heat approaches

The Mustard Seed Red Deer in need of water bottle donations

Jun 30, 2026 | 4:05 PM

The Mustard Seed Red Deer is calling on the community for water bottle donations as the summer season has arrived.

The organization says they’re entering the season with critically low bottled water supplies and are putting the call out in hopes that residents and businesses step up to ensure everyone can stay hydrated this summer.

“We know that heat can be just as dangerous as cold for those without access to shelter or hydration,” said Dwayne Kraushar, Shelter Manager at The Mustard Seed, in a media release. “A simple bottle of water can be life-saving. We’re asking the community to come together and help us meet the need before it becomes critical.”

The Mustard Seed distributes thousands of bottles of water each year through the Community Impact Centre.

They are currently working to replenish water supplies and ensure that supports are in place before extreme temperatures arrive.

Those interested in lending a hand can donate unopened bottled water, whether it be individual bottles or bulk cases, or make a financial donation to support the purchase of bottled water and other summer relief supplies.

Donations can be dropped off at The Mustard Seed Community Impact Centre located at 6002 54 Avenue in Red Deer from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
