The British Columbia Hockey League has announced the winners of the Kyle Turris Community Award from the Interior Conference.

Among the 10 names listed was Blackfalds Bulldogs forward Matthew Croxall.

He and the others picked to receive the award, the league says, were chosen because they went above and beyond in their community.

Each team submitted a winner from their organization, along with the reasons for their selection.

“Matthew is a great member of the Blackfalds and Central Alberta community. He is a highly engaged volunteer, leading the team in volunteer hours recorded this season,” the Bulldogs said. “Additionally, he receives a lot of positive feedback from his visits to our community members. His personality and helpful nature are noted in Blackfalds and Central Alberta.”

In his first full season with the Bulldogs this year, Croxall scored 16 goals and 13 assists for 29 points in 51 games. He also added two points in six playoff games.

The other names listed were Dante Siciliano (Brooks Bandits), Nathan Simm (Cranbrook Bucks), Grady Gustafson (Okotoks Oilers), Tanner Walos (Salmon Arm Silverbacks), Brec Christenson (Sherwood Park Crusaders), Spencer Rheaume (Spruce Grave Saints), Chayse Johnson (Trail Smoke Eaters), Deagan McMillan (Vernon Vipers), and Caden Kemkaran-Humble (West Kelowna Warriors).
